From the Anthology: FLYING IN A BLUE DREAM: Having dreams where I would take off from my bed, float through the walls of my house up and over my neighborhood and town were a big part of my childhood. Remembering this was the inspiration for this song. During the recording as John and I were preparing to lay down a rhythm guitar track, we started to get some radio or TV interference coming through my amplifier. We were at the top of the take with a few bars to go before the start of the song when we heard a child trying to describe, with difficulty, something to an adult with an audience in the background. John quickly pressed record. We then sat back and listened to this dialog between the kid and the adult. Just as the child finished his thought the intra chords started to playas if on cue! I'm still not quite sure what the kid is saying but it somehow evoked the mood I was trying to introduce to the song.
