From the Anthology: FRIENDS: One day I found myself looking through a large full color book of photographs whose subject was everyday people from around the world. The images themselves told wonderful stories, and suggested an intensity of life that was hard to ignore. A particular picture of two young African boys smiling, arms around each other while looking right in the camera lens, really struck as the most powerful of all the photos. Within twenty minutes of seeing it I turned my recorder on, picked up a bass and wrote this song. It doesn't sound African at all of course, more Celtic than any thing else, but one never knows where inspiration will take you, I guess. This was the first song Matt, Gregg and I cut with producer Andy Johns. It blew us away to hear it back the first time at Ocean Way Studios, so big and powerful.
